Funding Programme
The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs works in partnership with government agencies, business and the philanthropic sector. A number of funding programmes support the Taskforce’s work on youth employment and the achievement of the joint youth goal with government. In most cases Mayors must be involved in any application for funding.
The Taskforce receives operational funding from
- Member Mayors' Councils
- Local Government New Zealand
- Department of Labour
- Ministry of Social
Development
- Flexible Employment Fund - through Regional Commissioners.
- The Ministry of Social Development also provided project funding for initiatives supporting the Taskforce goal at the local level. - Te Puni Kokiri
- provided funding for Marcus Akuhata-Brown to work with Mayors, Councils and communities to achieve the Taskforce goal and encourage positive transitions for young people.
- Funding from Te Puni Kokiri also enabled the Taskforce to undertake research into the Modern Apprenticeship Programme and successful Youth Transition initiatives. - Rangatahi Leadership Programme

- Ministry of Youth Development provided funding for Youth Week to enable more Youth Councils to undertake projects in support of the week.
