The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs proposes a model that tracks all school leavers and connects them to opportunities within their own communities. The model is based on Local Authority boundaries and relies on community support and collaboration across central and local Government agencies. Read more

The primary objective of this programme is to take an intentional, long term, intergenerational approach by developing the leadership capacity of young Maori (generally18-25yrs) in a systemic way over a significant period of time with the view that these young Maori could in time become the key drivers of social and economic change in their respective communities. All research says we are going in the right direction in proposing that there is a universal system for tracking and supporting all our young people when they leave secondary education. Communities want to and are the best able to help their young people, but to do that we need to know where they are and who needs extra help. Read more in the September 10 newsletter
