Objectives of Mayors Taskforce for Jobs

To provide a national focus of leadership on youth transition issues through cooperation between Mayors concerned about youth in transition in their communities.
To encourage agency collaboration and flexibility at the local level.
To ensure local government is consulted and aware of government policy and programmes at the local level before delivery.
To share best practice on what we can achieve on youth transitions at the local level.
To encourage young people to participate with the Taskforce to achieve the Taskforce vision.
To encourage provision of positive work, education, training and community connection opportunities to enable young people to make successful transitions.
To positively influence central government policy to achieve the Taskforce vision.
To build communities where young people have the ability to become the very best they can.
To ensure all activities, programmes and actions provide excellent value for money.
