Youth Transition
The Taskforce has been very involved with supporting young people to make successful transitions from school to work, education or training. Council staff and Mayors worked with communities to set up the original Youth Transition Services in 14 areas in the North Island, undertaking the community consultation and driving strategic implementation groups. For more information on those services see the Youth Transition Services page. A list of the contact details for all the Youth Transistion Services offices is available.
In other parts of the country the Taskforce supports providers to ensure the best possible service is being provided for our young people. The Taskforce believes a connection model driven by local communities who are held accountable for positive outcomes for their young people would give the best value for money.
