Northland Region

The Northland Region is located at the very top of New Zealand, has a population of nearly 150,000, and was home to some of the country's first human inhabitants. The region has a 31% Maori & Pasifika population, which is one of the largest in the country. The region is rich in culture and history, and boasts a stunning natural environment. Northland has a sub-tropical climate, making it the warmest region in New Zealand.  

Northland has a diverse economy with manufacturing as its largest industry followed by agriculture, forestry and fishing.

The region consists of three Territorial Authorities; Whangarei District, Far North District and the Kaipara District.
